HISTORY
Calvary Chapel of Guadalupe began when God placed a burden on Pastor
Paul Berry of Calvary Chapel Santa Maria, for the community of Guadalupe.
With the arrival of a new family to the church from Guadalupe, Pastor Paul
sensed the Lord confirming this burden for a new church in this small
coastal community.

After meeting with an elder and pastor in training, Ruben Cortez, he
suggested to him to pray about starting a home bible study in the home of
this new family. After much prayer, and waiting on the Lord, Ruben ventured
out in faith, and in the fall of 1994 started a weekly evening study in the
home of Beto and Julie Orozco. By the spring of 1995, it was evident that
the Lord wanted to take this home study to the next level.  Pastor Ruben and
the elders secured the Guadalupe Senior Center and on August  5, 1995
with nine families, Calvary Chapel of Guadalupe began their first Sunday
morning service. Since then much activity and spiritual growth have
occurred and the Lord continues to bless
Calvary Chapel Guadalupe day by day.
